Nuclear Bombs

Lately some conflicts have been going on between some of the biggest powers in the world such as North Korea and the United States of America, so far they are only threatening each other but what if they decide to enter into a real conflict? I think we should worry about a potential weapon, the nuclear bomb.

The first nuclear bomb was designed in Manhattan’s top secret program in the course of World War II, and was tested on July 16th , 1945 at Los Alamos, National Laboratory, New Mexico. This bomb was made up of two small balls of plutonium covered by nickel and in the center of which was a core of beryllium and uranium. To activate the bomb, there were explosives and 32 detonators. The first atomic bomb had a power of 18.6 kilotons (one kiloton equals one thousand explosions of TNT).

A tower of 30 meters high evaporated with the explosion, which also opened a crater of 400 meters in diameter. In the following weeks, the constructions of the Little Boy and Fat Man bombs, that would be played against Hiroshima and Nagasaki, were followed on August 6 and 9, 1945.

But if something like this can do such damage, nowadays would it not be possible to destroy much more? We must hope not to find out.

At this point, I think it is important to say that in the hypothesis of the world being destroyed by Atomic Bombs, only one bomb is necessary to do so, because if someone explodes a bomb somewhere, that bomb will be replied in the place of the original bomb.

Finally, for that reason we really need to be careful regarding any form of atomic bomb.
